Choosing the Right Board

Here you will learn on the different boards and equipment needed to start out.

A Good Board

First off there are a number of boards to choose from, like Plan B, Element, Flip, Zoo York, etc . Do not buy a skateboard from a toy store go to a skate shop, because they know what their talking about. The wood from  pro boards are made better and have sturdy wood, so they stay in good condition longer than toy boards.

What You Need

First off there are a number of pieces to create a skateboard. Of course you need a deck, then two trucks to support the board, four nuts, eight bearings and four wheels to purchase. There are a number of different brands, like Lucky, Black Panther and other bearings. I would recommend getting your board put together at a skate shop, then doing it yourself. Or you can buy a complete deck which has everything on the board that I have listed.

Prices of a complete board range from $70-$100. And if you purchase everything seperatley the price will range $100-$160 depending on the board. If you want to save money you can buy a blank deck which has not labels or design on the board, so it ranges from about $20-$30 dollars alone.

Also you can purchase skateboarding shoes, I would recommend buying a pair. There are a list of brands Adio,NIKE, DC, VANS, and few others. Prices of shoes can range $30-$120.

If you have all these things your ready to skate, and remember where protective gear if your a first time skater. Look at the Skateboarding World page, here you will learn different tricks.
